Help: Tech Support
  • What do I need to watch the VOD?

You will need: 1) a computer and 2) internet connection to take advantage of MVIBO's services

    1. Your computer must be compatible to the following software to watch VOD's online.
      • Internet Explorer 7.0 (or above), Firefox 2.0 (or above), or Safari 3.0 (or above), Google Chrome
      • JavaScript and Cookies must also be enabled
      • Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124.0. (or above)
      • Microsoft Windows XP SP2 (or above), Macintosh OS X 10.4 (or above), Linux
    2. In addition, you will need a broadband internet connection.
      • Our videos stream at least 536 kbps and we strongly recommend a downstream bandwidth of over 1 mbps for a smooth playback experience.
      • Our videos stream at least 1,004 kbps and we strongly recommend a downstream bandwidth of at least 3 mbps for a smooth playback experience.

You can check your internet speed by visiting www.speedtest.net or www.speakeasy.net/speedtest. For further information about internet connection, please contact your local internet service provider, such as Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, Time Warner and Cox Communications.

  • How can I watch VOD without buffering?

For a smooth streaming experience, you will need a broadband internet connection. If your broadband connection isn't fast enough, streams may not play as smooth. If you are experiencing stuttering or choppy playback, here are some suggestions that may help:

    • Your video download speed may be slow or inconsistent. Pause the video until the buffer is full and then try playing the video.
    • If you are watching video over a wireless connection and your video is stuttering, try watching over a wired connection or move your computer closer to your Wi-Fi router for a stronger signal.
    • If you are running any bandwidth-intensive applications on your own computer (e.g. Vuze, BitTorrent, Outlook, internet phone services such as Skype, Vonage, MagicJack, or other downloads), you may want to pause or exit these applications while watching videos on MVIBO.com.
    • If you are sharing internet connection with other people, check to see if they are using any bandwidth-intensive programs (mentioned above) while you are watching videos.
    • Pause the video and allow the buffer to reach "full." Once it's full, try playing your video again. If the video is still stuttering, you may be experiencing issues with your CPU performance. Try turning off any CPU-intensive programs you're running or rebooting your computer. Additionally, you can try running MVIBO in a different browser or update your Flash drivers.
    • If you experience video stalling problems only during full-screen mode, try lowering your desktop resolution.

If you're still having issues, you can use the following steps to try to further diagnose the problem:

    • Perform a speed test of your connection. This can be accomplished by going to www.speedtest.net. Once there, click on the spinning yellow shape on the map to initiate a speed test (if none of the shapes are yellow, select one that is closest to your geographic location). Once complete, examine the results. If your download speed (indicated by the down arrow) is below 1,000 Kbps (~1.0 Mbps), then your bandwidth is fairly limited. You may also want to contact your Internet Service Provider to get a download speed of over 1.0 Mbps.
    • Perform a Traceroute. If you receive an output with 13 or more hops, the problem is most likely related to how your Internet Service Provider is routing your computer's requests to MVIBO. Unfortunately, MVIBO is unable to fix this problem - you can try contacting your Internet Service Provider to request help.

If you've tried everything else, please write to us through the Contact Us section, and we can try to investigate the issue to see if there's something on our end.

  • I have a problem in the internet connection.

First, please check if the internet line is connected with your computer, modem, and routers correctly. If you don't find any problem with the connections, please turn off both modem and router and wait for about 30 seconds before you turn them on again to see if you have internet connection. If the problem persists, please contact your internet service provider (Verizon, AT&T, Time Warner, Cox, etc) for further help.
  • The shows stop and resume every so often.

This is most likely to happen when the speed of your internet connection is not fast enough or your internet connection has a problem. Please make sure you have at least 3 Mbps internet connection speed to enjoy the VODs without buffering. Even with high-speed internet subscriptions, connection speed may vary depending on the type of service (DSL, HFC, Dedicated Line, etc), location, and the time of day. You can check your internet speed by visiting www.speedtest.net or www.speakeasy.net/speedtest. You can also improve your viewership experience by avoiding the transfer of large-sized files on the same network that you share a router with.
  • I cannot play the video when I was told the VOD points have been deducted.

Please make sure you have the following software programs installed in your computer.
    • Internet Explorer 7.0 (or above), Firefox 2.0 (or above), or Safari 3.0 (or above), Google Chrome
    • JavaScript and Cookies must be enabled
    • Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124.0. or above
    • Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or above, Macintosh OS X 10.4 or above, or Linux

If the problem persists, you might need codecs from the following websites: K-Lite Codec, AC3filter

Also, you will need to purchase additional points to watch the same VODs again, if you want to watch after the 7-hour period from your first playback.
